Remember those rumored specifications for LG’s so-called Prada II? Yeah, particularly the part about the slide-out keyboard? If the image above has any traces of legitimacy, you could be looking at the Prada II. Good thing an image is worth quite a few letters, ’cause that’s all the details we’ve got to go on for now.

SkeptOlympics writes “A new chapter in the ongoing controversy surrounding China’s women’s gymnastics team opened today, as search engine hacker stryde.hax found surviving copies of official registration documents issued by China’s General Administration of Sport of China. The incriminating documents, expunged by censors from the official site and from Google’s document cache, still appear in the document translation cache of Chinese search giant Baidu, here (1) and here (2), showing the age of one of China’s gold medal winning gymnasts to be 14 instead of 16, the minimum age for competition presented on her government-issued passport. Now that official government documentation is available, how long will the IOC be able to keep a lid on this scandal?” I imagine the answer is “Forever.”

Just as we’d envisioned, the Invision candybar (if a phone this stubby can, in fact, be called a candybar) from LG is now a reality for AT&T. The phone becomes just AT&T’s third to support its MediaFLO-based Mobile TV service, taking a similar line to Samsung’s Access by stuffing a landscape display, 1.3-megapixel camera, and HSDPA into a squarish case that’s sure to make minimalists and traditionalists swoon; what’s more, it also takes the honor of being AT&T’s smallest Mobile TV-equipped handset to date. It’s available today for $99.99 with a $50 rebate and two years’ worth of commitment — just be sure to factor the cost of the Mobile TV add-on into your budget.

Wait, let’s get this straight. We understood that the newfangled Xbox 360 controller would be limited in nature (though we never understood why), but now you’re telling us that North Americans will have to get lucky on the international second-hand market to obtain one? According to information spilled to Eurogamer, that’s the deal. Microsoft is reportedly loosing the pad in Europe, Asia and Latin America as a “promotional item” that ties in with Konami’s Pro Evolution Soccer. Also, it’s very green, and only green. We’re still waiting to hear if Microsoft has plans to bring this stateside or use it to replace the existing controller entirely, but who knows, maybe the US edition will boast four analog sticks and a built-in LCD with real-time LIVE! status checking.

Intel wasn’t exactly all that forthcoming with details about its next-gen Classmate PC when the subject
last came up (describing it only as having
both hardware and software upgrades), but it looks to have dropped its guard at this week’s
IDF, with it not only dishing out details, but an actual unit as well. As you can see, this one’s a convertible, but Intel is quick to point out that it’s not the Classmate 3.0 some have been expecting — it’ll apparently exist alongside the current generation model. Also, as you might have guessed, there’s not a lot of surprises in terms of specs, with it boasting the same 1.6GHz Atom processor as every other netbook out there, along with an 8.9-inch 1024 x 600 display, an SD card slot, a pair of USB ports, and an SSD drive of unspecified size. Intel is apparently still promising to provide a few more details a bit later on but, in the meantime, you can bide your time by digging into the pics available at the link below.
Update: Check out a video from Intel after the break, and even more pics at jkkmobile.

We’re not sure who let Yahoo! into Intel’s party in San Francisco, but the two sure are getting along great. Much to the chagrin of Mark Cuban, these two actually believe that there’s a future in internet TV, particularly if you force it down people’s throats. Intel spent the bulk of its time talking up the Media Processor CE 3100 (formerly known as Canmore), which would theoretically be installed within HDTVs and enable users to access internet-based content without the need for an additional set-top-box (’course, the STB is still optional). That’s where Yahoo! comes in — it’s hoping that its Widget Channel will encourage users to utilize its services when watching re-runs or other lackluster material in order to get news, weather and other related information right on the living room set. Not that this is a totally new concept, but these two surely have the power to push it one step further. Lots more information and pictures in the links below.
Update: It’s official… surprise!

Well, one of the two at least. As Extreme Tech reports, Intel let out word of the hereto unheard of “turbo mode” for its
NehalemCore i7 processors at its big Intel Developer Forum this week, with it describing it as an “entirely new process technology for power.” More specifically, the mode, or so-called “power gate,” turns off cores that would otherwise be left idle when they’re not in use, and reroutes the power budget that normally would be applied to those cores to the active cores, which promises to further boost their performance without wasting power. According to Intel, that’ll be a standard feature across the entire Nehalem family, including the first mobile versions of the processor that’ll be at the center of the
Calpella platform, which is on track for a launch sometime next year.

At long last, “you are now free to surf the intarwebz while flying.” Okay, so maybe it has been possible in the past, but American Airlines is taking a huge leap forward in the US market today by giving passengers aboard long-haul Boeing 767-200 flights the option to hop online during the trip. The GoGo service, which is being provided by Aircell, will charge customers $12.95 for access to the world wide web, though Reuters points out that VoIP calling is “not available.” Delta, US Airways, et al. — time to get with the program.

Well, color us surprised! Here we have yet another “limited edition” PlayStation 3 bundle, this time with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune packed in alongside a PlayStation Network voucher for PAIN, a DualShock 3 wireless controller and… a 160GB PS3 console? Yep, Sony’s formally introducing us to the new king, which will start shipping to North America this November in the aforementioned kit for $499.99. Curiously, there’s no word as to whether it’ll be released separate from the bundle (we’re guessing yes), and there’s no mention of PS2 backwards compatibility (so don’t count on it). In related news, the “new” $399.99 80GB version is finally shipping to retailers, so you should be able to snap one up in the very, very near future.

Ah, the Nintendo Wii. A console that is six parts fun and innovation and four parts abuse and experimentation.
The head of Sega made no bones about announcing that the ‘Wii market is flooded with crap‘ recently, but this comment shouldn’t just be reserved for games.
There’s all manner of ridiculous looking add-ons and attachments for the Wii remote, very few of which are even worth the price of the postage spent on getting them delivered. While there have been some big hits in the peripherals arena such as the Wii Fit board, a new ‘accessory’ for keeping fit on your console looks dangerously like yet another blatant cash-in.
The Wii Sqweeze is a rather chunky peripheral that you slot your Wii remote into (for no obvious reason) and then flex the pair of rubber handles for shoulder abduction and adduction.
